The #ScotlandHour team is now following a new format for Scotlandhour from February 2013.

Instead of a free format with no structure, which has tended to generate a massive volume of Tweets – sometimes  quite daunting for users to keep up with – the new format trialled in February will offer a series of guided questions based on the monthly Scotland Hour theme, which participants can reply to in an equally structured way. This will take place between 9pm and 9.50pm.

How shall it work? The hosts of #ScotlandHour: @BairdTravels, @ScotlandHour @HIEHamilton, @AileenLamb, myself, @lesleyjudge, @SusanMcNaughton and @FionaDrane will Tweet out a series of 5 questions: at 9:00 pm, 9:10 pm, 9:20 pm, 9:30 pm, 9:40 pm. For example:

Q1: Where is your favourite holiday place in Scotland and why? #ScotlandHour

Follow the Q1 question prompt and to signpost, so that we know everyone’s responding to the same question, reply with your corresponding “A1”, for example – and don’t forget to include the hashtag at the end:

A1: We love Loch Lomond because of the great views and walks! #ScotlandHour

Every 10 minutes there will be a new question, eg Q2, Q3, etc, prompting an answer labelled “A2”, “A3” etc – and 10 minutes for you to Tweet your responses before we all start answering the next question. From 9:50 pm the remaining 10 minutes of the hour will return to the free format, so that contributors can add comments, catch up in a general way and just enjoy the #Scotlandhour chat!

#ScotlandHour Questions for Wednesday 27th February, 9-10pm GMT

Q1.  Share one favourite place (location) in Scotland to stay and tell us why

Q3. Where was the last great place (accommodation) you stayed and why?
