The Travel Massive Edinburgh community enjoyed a fantastic networking evening on the roof of the Forth View Suite at The George Hotel Edinburgh on Thursday 14 July 2016.

Chapter Leaders Katy Duncan and Lesley Judge were delighted to welcome several new faces, with guests from Australia, the US and France and plenty of locals at heart and soon-to-be locals at heart.

One of the most positive things about Travel Massive is that it’s a global travel community which people anywhere in the world can tap into and find others in common. For July we wanted to highlight some of the best things about being #localatheart – that is, welcoming new visitors to Edinburgh, inviting our community to get together, to find out more about Travel Massive, and hear from local businesses and suppliers about how they can work together.

Guests enjoyed a welcome from the Travel Massive Edinburgh team before hearing from Natalie Allera Harris, Marketing Manager of the George Hotel, about the hotel’s recent refurbishment, the new event spaces and rooms. Local artist and designer Cherith Harrison showcased some of her latest work and we were invited to a show-round of the hotel’s new upgraded rooms.

Katy Duncan shared insights into the Travel Massive Edinburgh community – our business sectors include tour operators, content creators, accommodation providers, innovators and business tourism – and  Katy also reminded us of Travel Massive tools such as the new jobs board and more. Fast approaching 300 travel insiders, we’re currently the largest UK chapter outside London, thanks to an engaged, enthusiastic and generous Edinburgh travel community.

Travel Massive Edinburgh competition wall ready for grabbing!

The competition wall proved popular with some neat prizes being won, including dinner for 2 at The Printing Press, lunch for 2 at Burr & Co, and some beautifully designed merchandise from Cherith; and everyone went home with a cool goody bag – thank you to both Natalie and Cherith for sponsoring prizes.

The sun shone, the wine flowed, we enjoyed quality networking and memorable views across to Fife from the terrace.

Thanks again to The George Hotel in association with Cherith Harrison, and to our community for support.
